Located in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA, MudPuppies Ceramic Art Camp & Classes is now in its 24th year! Sue has year round classes for ages 6-adult, with Parent & Me classes for those under the age of 6. Take a look around, join our mailing list, take a class or schedule an event with us!
Mud Puppies Los Angeles was conceived to give students the opportunity for an intensive experience with clay in a relaxed and cooperative environment. In our open air pottery studio, Mud Puppies has allowed artist and owner Susan Grieder to combine her passion for working with students of all ages with her love of clay to provide a unique learning opportunity to the community with summer camp and ceramics classes for all ages year round!

Life is hectic these days, for kids as well as parents. Many of us have fond memories of summers hanging out with friends, going swimming or playing outside; no busy schedules or rushing around. Our summer camp program is designed to capture this “lazy days” spirit. Mud Puppies features a fully equipped professional ceramic studio, swimming pool with slide & gated yard, play structure, arts and crafts room & pool/game house.
Summer 2025 will be Mud Puppies 25th year! Registration opens the 1st weekend in March so mark your calendars! In the meantime, checkout 2024 info below!

Susan Grieder has been working in clay for over forty years. She received her BFA degree in ceramics from California State University, Long Beach in 1983 and has since worked in such diverse aspects of the field as dinnerware manufacturing and design, architectural restoration, private studio work and of course, teaching kids of all ages both in school and in her clay camp and classes with MudPuppies! She also loves creating her beautiful nature inspired ceramic pieces, serving both form and function, under Beauty Underfoot.
